Join me and Amanda Kimes as we discuss what it takes to build a brand.
The Brand
With a dream to create THE JEAN that was missing from the western world, Matt and Amanda sourced every element of their production-finding the best team of cutters, sewers, and washers until their product was undeniably the best fit and quality. They created a jean versatile enough to crossover from western to everyday wear, with a medium waist line for women that allowed high enough coverage while riding but low enough rise to mimic a fashionable street jean. Their men’s jean took on details that others had not considered, like a knife pocket and a more attractive back pocket placement.
Mission
We are the western wear leaders of quality in style, product and service.
Vision
We intend to bring Western back to its roots by creating fashionable jeans with a classic feel. We are leading the trend by taking our fashion industry background and blending it with our western roots to make western fashion current. We are where the fashion world meets the western world. We are western wear that transcends.
Value Proposition
Superior Fit. Classic style. Western Uncomplicated.
Western the way it was. Where jeans were a timeless staple and simplicity and durability made them the cowboy’s must- have. Kimes Ranch has made function and fit a priority, making our classic jean a standout necessity for all cowboys and girls. We provide the canvas for your unique western style.

J STORME JANNISE
Fourth-generation Texas cowboy, J Storme, wants to show the nation that women can do anything men can do. She grew up on her family’s cattle ranch and is determined to keep the tradition going by following in her grandfather’s footsteps. J Storme studied agriculture in college and competes in ranch rodeos with much success. J Storme now helps in the daily management her family’s ranch and the rebuilding of their operation after surviving devastating losses from hurricane Harvey. Small, but mighty, her grandma showed her how to stay tough in a male-dominated industry.
TARA POWERS
Growing up on a small farm in Iowa, Tara learned how to be a cowboy from her biggest inspiration, her father. Her work on a feedlot in Oklahoma with over 80,000 head of cattle allows her to do what she loves every single day: be the cowboy she was born to be. This former agriculture teacher’s motivation to appear on the show is to prove that women are just as much cowboys as men.

I had a great conversation with Bobby “The Jet” Rodriguez who started mutton bustin’ at age 3. He was taken in by his Grandmother at age 6 and stopped all rodeo activities at that time.
Bobby is a product of the south-side of Tucson, Arizona and started working out when he was in the 7th grade with his youth football coach. He graduated from Sunnyside High School in 2007 where he was a standout multi-sport athlete. Bobby was coached by some of Arizona’s most legendary coaches during his prep years. Coaches like Bobby DeBerry (Wrestling), Richard Sanchez (Football) and his staff.
In 2003, Coach Sanchez took Bobby under his wing, picking Bobby up for school every day for the next 4 years, teaching him how to be a leader in all aspects of life. While at Sunnyside, Bobby earned the nickname “The Jet” for his speed on the football field that helped Sunnyside during their State Championship runs. Bobby went on to play football at the collegiate level and graduated from The University of Arizona from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
After earning his degree from UA in 2012, Bobby moved to Brazil and began training people on the beach which ignited Bobby’s passion for coaching and helping others through sports & fitness. During this time he studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts. He won many bouts in various divisions and in 2015 Bobby represented the US and won the bronze medal at 168 lbs at the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) World Championship. In 2016, having moved back to Tucson, Bobby started Jet Multi-Sport Training.
Bobby currently rides bulls professionally and competes in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders). Bobby has ridden the top bulls against the top cowboys from around the world in 3 different countries, having competed in the US, Mexico and Brazil. Bobby is fluent in 3 languages including English, Spanish & Portuguese. Bobby loves adrenaline, traveling, competing and the camaraderie aspect of professional rodeo.
Bobby has played and competed at the highest levels of sports, therefore, he understands what it takes to prepare the mind and body to perform at the highest level. Bobby’s disciplined life consists of a balanced lifestyle of nutrition and living a drug & alcohol free life.
Having trained athletes from youth, high school, NCAA, and professional sports, Bobby guarantees that anyone who trains with him will enhance their mental game and overall skill set as an athlete.
